You should consult with a qualified medical professional before making any decisions about cosmetic procedures.
This Client Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is between Canvass Research LLC, a California limited liability company (“Canvass Research,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and the individual purchasing services (“Client,” “you,” or “your”).
By completing your purchase through our website, submitting a Client questionnaire, or otherwise engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Agreement in full. This Agreement is a binding legal contract. If you do not agree to all terms, do not purchase or use our services.
Canvass Research provides independent research and analysis for individuals considering cosmetic procedures in South Korea. We are a research company. We are not a medical provider, healthcare facility, consulting firm, medical tourism agency, or referral service. We offer the following service tiers:

Covers up to three (3) procedures per report. Includes provider vetting, red flag screening, and pricing context. Delivered within 72 hours of receiving sufficient information from Client via the Client questionnaire.
Surgeon Intelligence Report. A structured, evidence-cited research report personalized to Client’s stated goals. Covers one (1) surgical procedure per report. Includes matched surgeon shortlist, deep-source analysis, red flag screening, credential verification, side-by-side comparison, and questions to ask your surgeon. Delivered within 72 hours of receiving sufficient information from Client via the Client questionnaire.
No consultation services. Canvass Research is a research company. We do not provide medical consultations, debriefs, ongoing advisory sessions, or back-and-forth guidance on medical decisions. Our deliverable is a research report, not a consulting or advisory relationship.
We reserve the right to modify service descriptions and pricing for future purchases. Changes do not affect services already contracted.
What we provide: Independent research and data analysis drawn from medical journals, Korean and English-language review platforms, professional registries, credential databases, published medical research, and publicly available accounts from individuals who have undergone procedures. Our research process uses artificial intelligence (AI) analysis tools and human research oversight. See Section 3A (AI Disclosure) below.
What we do not provide: Medical advice, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, referrals, clinical assessments, second opinions, or consultations of any kind. We do not practice medicine. We do not recommend specific surgeons, clinics, or procedures. We do not guarantee any medical, surgical, or cosmetic outcome. We do not endorse, vouch for, or assume responsibility for any provider, clinic, or facility that appears in our reports.
Canvass Research is a research service. We are not a medical advisory firm, consulting firm, medical tourism agency, referral service, or advocate. We do not provide consultations, debriefs, or ongoing advisory relationships. Our deliverable is a structured research report containing publicly available information organized for your convenience. All information we provide is for informational and educational purposes only.
Not a substitute for professional medical advice. Our reports are not a substitute for consultation with a qualified medical professional. You should not rely on any Canvass Research report as the basis for a medical decision without independent consultation with a licensed physician or specialist who can evaluate your individual health circumstances.
Some or all of the content in Canvass Research reports, including research analysis, data synthesis, and source evaluation, may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) tools. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. By purchasing and using our services, you understand, acknowledge, and assume any risk associated with AI-generated or AI-assisted content. Canvass Research does not warrant the accuracy of any AI-generated content.
By purchasing our services, you agree to the following:
Accurate information. You will provide accurate and complete information in your Client questionnaire and any communications with Canvass Research, including your procedure goals, relevant medical history, and any providers you are already considering. Inaccurate or incomplete information may affect the quality and relevance of our research. Canvass Research is not responsible for inaccuracies in our reports caused by incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you.
Your own decisions. You are solely responsible for all decisions regarding your medical care, including whether to undergo any procedure, which surgeon or clinic to select, whether and how to travel, and any pre-procedure or post-procedure care. You will consult with a qualified medical professional before making any medical decisions. Canvass Research plays no role in your medical decision-making process beyond providing information.
No photos. Canvass Research does not accept or solicit photographs of any kind, including selfies, reference images, or inspiration photos. You will describe your aesthetic goals in writing only via the Client questionnaire. If you send photos, we will not use them and may delete them without notice.
Personal use only. You will not redistribute, resell, publicly share, or create derivative works from your report or any Canvass Research materials without our prior written permission.
Independent verification. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to independently verify any information contained in a Canvass Research report before relying on it, including but not limited to surgeon credentials, clinic accreditation, pricing, availability, and reviews.
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SECTION OF THIS AGREEMENT. PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY.
You agree that you bear sole and complete responsibility for all medical, surgical, cosmetic, and travel decisions you make. Canvass Research provides information and research to support your independent decision-making. We do not make decisions for you, advise you on what to do, recommend specific providers or procedures, or assume any responsibility for the decisions you make or the outcomes of those decisions.
Canvass Research is not in the business of rendering personalized medical advice. We do not (and cannot) know your complete medical history, health conditions, risk factors, psychological readiness, or individual circumstances. Accordingly, the information provided in our reports does not constitute a recommendation that a particular surgeon, clinic, procedure, or course of action is suitable for you or any specific person.
You assume all risk. By purchasing and using our services, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
(a) All decisions to undergo cosmetic or medical procedures are yours alone;
(b) All decisions regarding the selection of surgeons, clinics, and facilities are yours alone;
(c) All decisions regarding travel to South Korea or any other destination are yours alone;
(d) Canvass Research’s reports are informational tools, not recommendations, endorsements, or guarantees;
(e) You have been advised to consult with a qualified medical professional before making any medical decision;
(f) Cosmetic and surgical procedures carry inherent risks, including but not limited to complications, unsatisfactory results, the need for revision procedures, infection, scarring, nerve damage, and in rare cases death, and these risks exist regardless of the quality of the provider or the information available beforehand;
(g) The quality of our research about a provider does not guarantee the quality of that provider’s work on your specific case;
(h) You will not hold Canvass Research responsible for the actions, omissions, negligence, or malpractice of any surgeon, clinic, facility, or other third party identified in or omitted from our reports.
Canvass Research does not control third-party providers. Our reports may identify, analyze, or discuss surgeons, clinics, hospitals, and other providers located in South Korea or elsewhere. Canvass Research has no ownership, control, agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship with any provider discussed in our reports. The inclusion of any provider in a report does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, referral, guarantee, or warranty of any kind regarding that provider.
Cross-border legal realities. You acknowledge and agree that:
(a) Medical providers in South Korea operate under South Korean law, not United States law;
(b) Legal recourse against foreign medical providers may be limited, difficult, expensive, or impossible to pursue from the United States;
(c) Canvass Research is not responsible for, and has no control over, the acts, omissions, negligence, malpractice, or misconduct of any foreign or domestic medical provider;
(d) If you are dissatisfied with the care you receive from any provider, your recourse is with that provider and/or their malpractice insurer, not with Canvass Research;
(e) Canvass Research is not a guarantor, insurer, or agent of any provider, and the existence of a Canvass Research report does not create any right of action against Canvass Research for the conduct of a third-party provider;
(f) You will not assert any claim against Canvass Research based on the theory that Canvass Research referred, recommended, endorsed, or vouched for any provider, because Canvass Research does not do any of those things.
Reports are delivered electronically (PDF or equivalent format) to the email address you provide.
Timeline. We aim to deliver reports within 72 hours of receiving sufficient information from you via the Client questionnaire. If we need additional information to begin research, the 72-hour timeline starts when we receive it. Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Payment is due in full at the time of purchase. All payments are processed through our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe). Canvass Research does not store your payment card information.
Prices are listed on our website at the time of purchase. All prices are in US dollars.
Before research begins. If you request cancellation before we have begun research on your case, you will receive a full refund.
After research begins. Once research has commenced, cancellation is not available and refunds are not issued. The research process involves significant resource expenditure that cannot be reversed.
After delivery. Canvass Research does not offer refunds on delivered reports.
If your report does not meet the deliverables outlined in your service tier, contact us within fourteen (14) days of delivery and we will revise it at no additional cost until it meets those standards.
The revision guarantee applies to the stated deliverables for your service tier, not to subjective satisfaction, personal preferences, disagreement with research findings, or the content of factual information. We do not revise reports to change factual findings, exclude verified information, or alter conclusions that are unfavorable to a particular provider.
Canvass Research is paid exclusively by Clients. We do not accept referral fees, commissions, kickbacks, or any other form of compensation from surgeons, clinics, hospitals, medical tourism agencies, or any other third party. No provider can buy placement, visibility, or favorable treatment in our reports.
Our full operating principles are published in our Transparency Charter, available on our website.
Your information. We treat your personal information, case details, and report contents as confidential. We will not share your identity or case details with clinics, providers, or third parties without your explicit written consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.
Our materials. The contents of your report, including our research methodology, analysis, source lists, and report formatting, are the intellectual property of Canvass Research LLC. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use your report for personal decision-making purposes.
Report confidentiality and non-distribution. Reports are prepared exclusively for the named Client and are for personal use only. You may not reproduce, share, publish, forward, or distribute your report, in whole or in part, without prior written consent from Canvass Research. Canvass Research accepts no liability for use of a report by anyone other than the original Client. If you share a report with any third party in violation of this provision, you agree to indemnify Canvass Research for any claims arising from that third party’s use of or reliance on the report.
To the fullest extent permitted by California law:
Liability cap. Canvass Research’s total liability to you for any and all claims arising from or related to this Agreement or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid Canvass Research for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Broad damages disclaimer. Under no circumstances will Canvass Research LLC, its members, managers, employees, contractors, or agents be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any other type of damages, resulting from your use of our services, even if Canvass Research has been advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, but is in no way limited to, loss or injury caused in whole or in part by:
(a) Surgical outcomes, complications, infections, scarring, nerve damage, disfigurement, need for revision procedures, or any other medical or cosmetic outcome;
(b) Medical decisions you make based on, informed by, or made after reading our research;
(c) The acts, omissions, negligence, malpractice, fraud, or misconduct of any surgeon, clinic, facility, or other third-party provider;
(d) Travel incidents, expenses, delays, cancellations, or health events occurring during travel;
(e) Emotional distress, pain and suffering, or psychological harm;
(f) Lost income, lost opportunity, or loss of earning capacity;
(g) Costs of additional medical treatment, revision surgery, or corrective procedures;
(h) Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in our reports, including those resulting from AI-generated content, outdated sources, or information that changed after the report was prepared;
(i) Our negligence or by things beyond our control in creating or delivering the service;
(j) Any other damages of any kind arising from your use of our services.
Point-in-time research. Our reports reflect research conducted at a specific point in time using sources available at that time. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any third-party information included in our reports. Surgeon qualifications, clinic practices, reviews, pricing, and regulatory records can change after delivery. We have no obligation to update reports after delivery.
No outcome guarantees.A favorable research profile does not guarantee a favorable surgical, medical, or cosmetic outcome. An identified concern does not necessarily predict a poor outcome. Every procedure carries inherent risks that are beyond anyone’s control, including Canvass Research’s.
All information, research, analysis, and materials provided or made available through Canvass Research’s services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Canvass Research hereby disclaims all representations, warranties, and conditions, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, or quality.
We do not warrant that: (a) our research will meet your expectations; (b) any provider identified in a report will be suitable for your needs; (c) any particular medical, surgical, or cosmetic outcome will result from your use of our services; (d) our reports will be free of errors or omissions; (e) the information in our reports will remain accurate or current after delivery; or (f) our services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. In such states, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
Canvass Research is not a medical provider, healthcare facility, or licensed practitioner of any kind. Our services do not create a doctor-patient relationship, therapist-patient relationship, healthcare provider relationship, or any other clinical or fiduciary relationship between you and Canvass Research, its members, employees, or contractors.
We do not provide medical advice. Nothing in our reports, on our website, in our communications, or in any interaction with Canvass Research staff constitutes medical advice. We do not diagnose conditions, recommend treatments, prescribe courses of action, or provide clinical opinions. We compile and organize publicly available research for your independent review.
Consult a qualified physician. All surgical and medical decisions, including whether to undergo a procedure, which provider to select, and how to prepare for and recover from any procedure, should be made in consultation with a qualified medical professional who can evaluate your individual health circumstances. Do not make any medical decision based solely on a Canvass Research report.
Our full Medical Disclaimer is available on our website and is incorporated into this Agreement by reference.
Governing law. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Informal resolution. Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to contact Canvass Research at the email address listed in Section 21 and attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
Binding arbitration. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement, our services, or your use of any Canvass Research report (including the determination of the scope or applicability of this Agreement to arbitrate) shall be determined by binding arbitration administered by JAMS in Los Angeles County, California, under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. This clause shall not preclude parties from seeking provisional remedies in aid of arbitration from a court of appropriate jurisdiction.
Class action waiver.You and Canvass Research agree that each party may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of a class or representative proceeding.
Small claims exception. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court in Los Angeles County, California, provided the claim falls within the court’s jurisdictional limits.
Opt-out right.You may opt out of this arbitration and class action waiver provision by sending written notice to Canvass Research within thirty (30) days of your first purchase, addressed to the email in Section 21 with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out.” If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Canvass Research LLC, its members, managers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs) arising from or related to:
(a) Your use of our services or any Canvass Research report;
(b) Your violation of this Agreement;
(c) Any medical, surgical, or cosmetic decisions you make, regardless of whether those decisions were informed by our research;
(d) Any third-party claims related to your medical care, surgical outcomes, travel, or experiences with any provider discussed in or omitted from a Canvass Research report;
(e) Your sharing, distribution, or disclosure of a Canvass Research report to any third party in violation of this Agreement;

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active Clients via email. Changes apply only to future purchases and do not affect services already contracted under a prior version.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction or arbitrator, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. The parties agree that the court or arbitrator shall enforce the intent of the unenforceable provision to the maximum extent permitted by law.
This Agreement, together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, and any service-specific addendum, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Canvass Research regarding the services purchased.
